Annual Green-Vs-Grey Game Ends with 6-2 Green Victory
September 4, 2022 – Western Hockey League (WHL) – Everett Silvertips News Release
EVERETT, Wash. – Team Green bested Team Grey by a 6-2 final in the annual Green vs Grey Game on Sunday, Sep. 4.
The 2022 Training Camp finale was highlighted by a standout performance from veteran ’02-born forward Jackson Berezowski, who netted a pair of goals in the game. Ryan Hofer, entering his third season with the Silvertips, recorded a goal with two assists on a line with Berezowski and ’06-born forward Jesse Heslop, who also had a goal and two helpers.
Olen Zellweger and Cody Polumbus rounded out the scoring for Team Green. 2022 first-round draft pick Julien Maze and Nick Giasson found the back of the net for Team Grey.
“The competition is healthy,” noted Hofer after the game. “Everyone’s working their hardest. The atmosphere and the culture with the Silvertips shows and everyone was going as hard as they can. It was a good game.”
Hofer, an ’02-born center, finds himself in a leadership position after signing with the Silvertips as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and blossoming into an NHL prospect with the Washington Capitals (6th-round pick, 2022 Draft).
“Being in that leadership role with [Jackson] Berezowski helps a lot,” he explained. “He’s been here the longest. [You see] what he does and feed off that, preaching what the coaches and staff preach of the culture. You try to feed that into the young guys to keep it going.”
Everett Silvertips 2022 Training Camp is presented by Bodies Kneaded.
