While the Wings had a successful weekend road sweep in St. Cloud, several former players picked up points in various collegiate games across the country.

Games continue on Sunday, Oct. 2.

Will Gilson (’21-’22) In their first game of the season Saturday, the University of Alaska-Anchorage upset Western Michigan 3-1 – and it was Gilson who notched the game-winning goal on a successful 5-on-3 power play for his first point of the year.


Cade Neilson (’19-’22) Neilson had an assist in Alaska-Fairbank’s matchup vs. American Internation College on Saturday.

Spencer Schneider (’19-’21) Schneider paired with his brother, Taylor, for an assist in Bowling Green’s 6-4 win over Northern Michigan Saturday.

Clayton Cosentino (’19-’21) Cosentino picked up an assist in Air Force’s lone goal during an exhibition matchup Saturday, but fellow Wings alum Matt Vernon backstopped his Colorado College squad to a 5-1 victory over the Falcons.

Zach Aughe (’19-’20) Aughe appeared in Lindenwood University’s first-ever Division I hockey game, but the Lions had a tough opponent in No. 2 Minnesota Golden Gophers and ultimately fell 4-0 Saturday night.

Stepan Pokorny (’18-’19) Pokorny added an assist in Ferris State’s 3-2 shootout loss to Miami on Saturday eveing.

Jonathan Bendorf (’17-’19) Bendorf recorded Mercyhurst’s first goal of the 2022-23 season Saturday, but the team ultimately fell 4-2 to Ohio State in their season opener.

Logan Britt (’16-’18) Britt recorded an assist in Saturday’s final preseason matchup against UMass before his Sacred Heart team opened their official season Sunday.
