FirstOn the Field Flag Football, Presented by FirstOntario, Returns this Week

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Monday, the return of the FirstOn the Field Flag Football program presented by FirstOntario Credit Union.

Tiger-Cats players, including Simoni Lawrence, Dylan Wynn, Chris Van Zeyl, Rich Leonard, Mason Bennett, Alden Darby, Alex Fontana and Stavros Katsantonis will welcome over 200 students, from both Hamilton school boards, to Tim Hortons Field on September 27th and 28th at 12 p.m. to help teach the students the fundamentals of football in a fun and safe way.


“FirstOn the Field is a great program designed to help students increase their physical activity and learn the importance of a healthy lifestyle, while having fun at the same time,” said Joanne Battaglia, SVP, Marketing, Communications and Community Partnerships, FirstOntario. “This is one of the many benefits of our partnership with the Ticats – working together to support youth health and wellness and making a positive impact in our community.”

The program is free to all 200+ participants, who will be coached by Ticats players and coaches with a focus on football fundamentals and skill development. Participating schools are provided with transportation to and from the event and each participant will receive a FirstOntario gift bag complete with a FirstOn the Field Flag Football t-shirt and a personalized Tiger-Cats nameplate.

WHEN: Tuesday, September 27th 12-3 p.m., Wednesday, September 28th 12-3 p.m.

WHERE: Tim Hortons Field (64 Melrose Ave. N. Hamilton, ON)

WHY: The program supports the development of football in Hamilton and the surrounding area at a grassroots level and provides its participants with the opportunity to learn from Ticats players in a fun and safe way.
