RSL Academy Trio Named to U-15 United States Youth National Team
August 31, 2022 – Major League Soccer (MLS) – Real Salt Lake News Release
HERRIMAN, Utah – Real Salt Lake Academy’s Omar Marquez, Luca Moisa and Axel Uriostegui have been named to the U.S. U-15 Youth National Team for the season’s first Identification Camp from August 31 through September 6 outside of San Diego, California.
Both Moisa and Uriostegui are in their second year with the Club, both having been part of the RSL Academy U-15 team that reached the MLS NEXT Cup final. During the MLS NEXT Cup, Moisa recorded two assists, including a game winner against Chicago Fire. Meanwhile, last year Uriostegui recorded the second-most goals for his team, scoring 12 goals all season, half of which were netted in April and May, during which he earned a call up to a Mexico Youth National Team Identification Camp.
Marquez is in his first season with Real Salt Lake, having transferred from Sacramento Republic FC where he gained notoriety during the 2022 MLS NEXT Cup for his hat-trick against New York Red Bulls, all while playing up an age group. Marquez traveled with the RSL Academy U-15 team to Germany, where he started nearly every match, going toe-to-toe with some of Europe’s best. This is the first time he has been named to a U.S. Youth National Team.
The RSL Academy is set to return to the regular season in MLS NEXT later this month, the schedule for which will be released at a later date.
