Winterhawks Reassign Three Players to Canadian U18 Programs

Portland, Ore. – The Portland Winterhawks, proud member club of the Western Hockey League, today announced that they have reassigned 16-year-old forwards Cole Cairns, Hudson Darby and Carsyn Dyck to their respective Under-18 AAA programs.


They each appeared in four preseason games this month. Cairns and Dyck each recorded their first point as members of the Winterhawks.

Cairns (5-11, 171lbs.) will return to Manitoba to play for RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg U18, Darby (6-0, 163lbs.) heads home to Saskatchewan to play for Swift Current Legionnaires U18, and Dyck (5-10, 153lbs.) will play for the Warman Wildcats U18 team. All three are eligible to play 10 WHL games this season as affiliate players with Portland.

The Winterhawks’ roster now stands at 24 players, not counting players currently away at NHL camps.
