EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley FC (11-12-6, 39 pts) shut out the potent Colorado Springs Switchbacks (16-11-3, 51 pts) offense at H-E-B Park as Tyler Deric picked up his sixth clean sheet. Jonas Fjeldberg scored the lone goal in the match as Rio Grande earn three points 1-0.

Rio Grande struck paydirt at the 28th minute as Christian Pinzon connected on a give-and-go touch assist with Jonas Fjeldberg who was closing in between the Colorado defenders, the Norwegian forward snuck by on pace and placed a well-placed ball through the left end of the net, past a stretched Jefferson Caldwell,1-0.
