Lights FC Goes on Their Longest Road Trip of the Year to Face Hartford

Lights FC traveled over 2600 miles for their first-ever matchup against Hartford Athletic, who came into tonight’s match with a 4 game unbeaten streak since US Men’s National Team legend Tab Ramos took over as the team’s head coach.


Hartford struck early with back to back goals from Ariel Martinez in the 12th and 28th minutes, giving the home side a 2-0 lead heading into the halftime break.

Las Vegas had a hot start to the second half, creating multiple opportunities, including one that ended with the ball of the back of the net, but that the officials called back with an offsides call.

Despite the Lights’ efforts, they weren’t able to avoid the clean sheet with Hartford earning a 3-0 win.

Las Vegas currently has 37 points in USL Championship’s Western Conference and is fighting to jump back to seventh place (final postseason spot).

NEXT MATCH:

Lights FC will host three home matches in a seven day span, which will be huge for the team’s postseason push as it tries to advance to the 2022 USL Championship postseason. The aciton at Cashman Field kicks off on Saturday, September 24th against San Diego Loyal SC.

This game will be followed up with a special Tuesday rescheduled battle versus Monterey Bay on September 27th, closing up the homestand on Friday September 30th against New Mexico. Lights FC’s remaining home games this season are scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m.
