Inter Miami CF II Closes out Inaugural MLS NEXT Pro Regular Season at Chicago Fire II

Inter Miami CF II (10W-5D-8L, 36 points) concludes its MLS NEXT Pro regular season this Sunday, Sept. 18 on the road at SeatGeek Stadium against Chicago Fire II. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET and will be streamed live on MLSNEXTPro.com.


Inter Miami II currently sits fifth in the MLS NEXT Pro Eastern Conference standings, with one game remaining to determine the four Eastern Conference playoff teams. The squad enters Sunday’s match just one point behind fourth-place Philadelphia Union II and three points behind second-place Rochester NY FC.

Inter Miami II heads to the Windy City after a thrilling 4-3 road victory over Toronto FC II Wednesday night. Shanyder Borgelin scored his team-leading 14th goal of the year in the 86th minute to give the Herons the victory.

On Sunday, the squad will look to complete a regular season sweep of Chicago Fire II (7W-5D-11L, 28 points) who sit eighth in the Eastern Conference standings and have been eliminated from playoff contention.

Inter Miami II earned a 3-1 victory at DRV PNK stadium over Chicago Fire II earlier this season on July 2. Shaan Hundal, Lawson Sunderland, and Shanyder Borgelin scored for the hosts.
