Timbers, Thorns FC Name Dr. Robin Beavers as Vice President of Community and Social Impact

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers and Thorns FC today announced the hiring of Dr. Robin Beavers as the club’s new Vice President of Community and Social Impact. With a focus on community engagement and outreach, Beavers has dedicated her career to developing and managing programs that promote the wellness, equity, and inclusion of all people in society. For over 20 years she has worked within the nonprofit sector, including youth & family services, higher education, and mental health industries. She will oversee the club’s Stand Together platform and lead new outreach and diversity initiatives.


“I am excited to be joining the Timbers and Thorns organization because I get the opportunity to uplift the lives of others through sports as well as strengthen the club’s connection to the community,” said Beavers. “The club has done great work throughout the years and I am looking forward to building upon the Stand Together initiative to continue those efforts, so that we can help the communities throughout the Portland Metro area and beyond, thrive.”

Beavers most recently served as the Vice President for Philanthropy and DEI Initiatives at Trillium Family Services. She is also currently an adjunct professor at Warner Pacific University School of Business. She has also held positions as the Vice President of Institutional Advancement and External Relations at Warner Pacific, the Director of Development for Self Enhancement, Inc., and the Assistant Director for Recruitment and Outreach at Portland State University.

Her civic and community endeavors include serving on the boards of Sport Oregon, POIC/RAHS, Portland Workforce Alliance, Numberz Radio and College Possible-Oregon, where she serves as the board chair.

Born and raised in Portland, Beavers holds a B.S. in Business Management and Communication from Concordia University, a M.S. in Education, Policy, Foundation and Administration from Portland State University, and an Ed.D. in Education Leadership from Concordia University.
