August 31, 2022 – United Soccer League Championship (USL) – Monterey Bay FC News Release
SEASIDE, Calif. – Monterey Bay Football Club (Monterey Bay F.C.) goalkeeper Carlos Herrera, midfielders Simon Dawkins and Adrian Rebollar, and forward Jesse Maldonado all stopped by a Monterey Surf Soccer Club training in Seaside on Tuesday, August 30.
“It’s always nice to come out here, be a part of the community and help out in any way that we can,” said Maldonado on Tuesday. “It’s a lot of fun for me to interact with the kids and everyone who supports us. I am happy to be here.”
The training consisted of several teams at different age levels, both boys and girls. Herrera, Dawkins, Rebollar, and Maldonado began the visit by introducing themselves to the group, and answering several questions from the kids, and their parents and coaches. After introductions and the Q&A concluded, the Monterey Bay F.C. players joined in on drills and activities and gave any advice they saw fit.
Monterey Surf Soccer Club is the Monterey County operating affiliate of the San Diego Surf Soccer Club with the mission to provide all boys and girls the best coaching and player development program, elementary school through college, while working in collaboration with other local and community soccer clubs.
“It was great to come out, see a local club up close and interact with the kids,” Rebollar said on Tuesday. “It’s great to see our fans. I can recognize a few of the kids and their parents out here, I’ve seen them supporting us at Cardinale Stadium. We want to do the same and come out and support them as well. We want to show them that we are a community, and we are here for them.”
