Greenville Takes Down the Tourists 2-0

Greenville, SC- The final Friday Night fireworks game of the season at Fluor Field appropriately ended with an explosive ninth inning walk off home run from Drive Left Fielder Corey Rosier as the Drive defeated the Asheville Tourists 2-0.
The night was dominated by pitching as both clubs went scoreless for eight innings and combined for 29 total strikeouts. Juan Daniel Encarnacion (0-0) made his second appearance for Greenville, pitching 5.0 innings with seven strikeouts and allowing three hits and no runs. Asheville pitcher Ryan Gusto had eight strikeouts in 3.2 innings pitched allowing four hits and no runs.
The action picked up in the bottom of the ninth when Rosier hit a deep two-run home run to left field to win the game for the Drive. This was Rosier’s first home run since arriving in Greenville and made it a memorable final Friday night for all Drive fans.
The Drive return to Fluor Field tomorrow night for the second to last game of the 2022 season. Greenville will send right hander Wyatt Olds (6.04, 3-9) to the mound to take on fellow right hander Rhett Kouba (5-2, 4.70) from Asheville. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.
