Club Statement Update

September 9, 2022 – United Soccer League Championship (USL)Orange County SC News Release

We are pleased to note that Vice Mayor Anthony Kuo has asked to add a discussion about Orange County Soccer Club’s future to the agenda for Tuesday’s Council meeting.

All of us at Orange County SC are pleased to see this step has been taken to discuss this issue publicly and are grateful to all members of the Council for committing time to talk about something that means so much to our fans, our community, and the citizens of Irvine.

We are hopeful for a positive outcome come at this meeting – final assurance in writing that we will play our 2023 season at the Stadium – and we continue to encourage our fans to once again attend the Council meeting on Tuesday in even greater numbers to show their support for our club.

We are eager to hear from the Council once and for all whether we will be able to play in Championship Soccer Stadium next season and beyond, and we know that our fans will want to be there to hear firsthand the outcome of any discussions.

All of us at Orange County SC hope to be able to leave that Council meeting with the certainty we need to plan for the season ahead and look forward to hearing the roar of victory from our fans echo around the Council Chamber on Tuesday night, as they did around Championship Soccer Stadium when we lifted the Conference Championship trophy last season.

OCSC is a part of your local community, and we still hope to see that continue.
