Macklin Celebrini Named USHL Forward of the Week

November 3, 2022 – United States Hockey League (USHL)Chicago Steel News Release

GENEVA, ILLINOIS – Chicago Steel forward Macklin Celebrini has been named United States Hockey League Forward of the Week for the first time in his USHL career, the league announced Wednesday.

Celebrini, a Boston University commit, registered three goals and an assist in the first period of last Saturday’s 7-1 Steel victory over Green Bay, the only game of the weekend for the Steel.

The Vancouver, British Columbia native and 2024 NHL Draft Prospect is currently third in the USHL with 14 points (9G, 5A) in nine games this season. He has registered at least a point in eight of the nine games that he’s appeared in during this season, his rookie USHL season.

“Macklin’s impact on the game is so impressive, especially for his age,” said Steel Head Coach and General Manager Mike Garman. “He relentlessly works to get pucks back and create chances for himself and his teammates. With his work ethic and approach to the game, the sky is the limit for Macklin.”

Celebrini is the third Steel forward to earn USHL Forward of the Week honors in the last four weeks, joining teammates Nick Moldenhauer and Jayden Perron as recent recipients of the honor.

The Steel begin the month of November with a pair of games on home ice this weekend at Fox Valley Ice Arena on Friday, Nov. 4 against the Gamblers and Saturday, Nov. 5 versus the defending Eastern Conference Champions, the Madison Capitols.

The Nov. 4 contest against Green Bay is Elvis Night with a special performance by an Elvis impersonator. The following night is Wayne’s World 30th Anniversary Night and a Post-Game Skate with the Steel.
