Giants Grab Point in 5-4 OT

Swift Current, SK – The Giants grabbed an overtime point, but couldn’t win their second extra-time game in as many nights, falling to the Broncos in OT Wednesday night.
1st Period:
VAN: Ty Thorpe opened the scoring on a wraparound midway through the opening frame.
SC: Caleb Wyrostok tied the game with 1:19 to go in the period.
2nd Period:
VAN: Ty Halaburda smacked in a rebound just over four minutes into the second.
SC: Josh Davies answered back 1:41 later on a writer from the high slot.
SC: Wyrostok buried his second of the game 9:08 into the period to bring the Broncos ahead 3-2.
3rd Period:
SC: With 14:07 remaining in regulation time, Raphael Pelletier scored on a breakaway to make the score 4-2.
VAN: Following a flurry of chances in the offensive zone, Jaden Lipinski roofed a rebound from in tight to bring the G-Men back within one.
VAN: With 5:26 to go, Samuel Honzek outwaited Broncos net minder Reid Dyck and roofed a shot while getting hauled down, 4-4.
OT:
SC: Seconds after the conclusion of a Giants Penalty Kill, Sam McGinley sent the local fans home happy with a shot for the slot that ended it.
