November 2, 2022 – National Arena League (NAL) – Jacksonville Sharks News Release
JACKSONVILLE, FL- The Jacksonville Sharks are proud to report that the team’s Director of Multimedia Steven Shotola has accepted an NFL opportunity with the Jacksonville Jaguars where he will serve in the technology department. Shotola joined the Sharks in 2015 and served the team for six seasons including the 2017 & 2019 NAL championship years. As the Director of Multimedia Steven oversaw the team’s media relations while providing content creation & management for the team’s social media, website, marketing, production, and team events.
Since 2015, Shotola became a four-time award-winning front office member taking home the NAL’s “Best Media” award for the Jacksonville Sharks (2017,2018, 2021, 2022). His presence in the office and on game days contributed towards the Sharks undefeated “Best Game Day” atmosphere in the National Arena League, an award the Sharks have swept since their NAL’s inaugural 2017 season. Steven contributed new theme night ideas to the Sharks that launched in recent years including 90s night and Wizarding World Night. In 2018, Steven was heavily involved with the NAL’s expansion teams the Carolina Cobras and Maine Mammoths. In 2021, Steven’s role expanded to assist the National Arena League where he served as a Multimedia Advisor for the last two seasons, responsible for overseeing media relations, league events, new technology, software, and digital assets that the league still uses to this day.
“Steven did a great job for us and will be deeply missed. It will be very difficult to find someone who can do all the different things Steven did. There’s a reason we won all those awards. I want to thank him for all his hard work and wish him great success across the street. He will always be a Shark” Stated Sharks Team President Steve Curran
Prior to the Sharks, Steven Shotola has worked in the sports industry for 12-years serving as a Multimedia Editor for the New York Jets in 2013 and served in game day production positions with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Jacksonville Armada for multiple seasons as well as live event production for PRI Productions in Jacksonville, FL. Shotola graduated locally from Jacksonville University and is a native of Port St. Lucie, FL.
