Warriors Announce Addition of Edmond Native Will Brenner

October 27, 2022 – North American Hockey League (NAHL)Oklahoma Warriors News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Warriors announced the addition of Edmond, Okla. native Will Brenner Thursday ahead of the team’s home-opening weekend at Blazers Ice Centre.

Brenner grew up in Edmond, a northern suburb of Oklahoma City, and learned to play hockey in the Oklahoma City Youth Hockey Association. Brenner reflected that there were barely enough kids to have full lineups when he played for the OKC Oil Kings and voiced his excitement on the growth of homegrown hockey since.

“It’s unbelievable,” said Brenner. “Just from me playing here, it gives the little kids, the 12U and 10U kids inspiration and I feel like they can fill my shoes when they’re older and play here.”

The right-shot defenseman shared his feelings on what it will mean when he laces up for the first North American Hockey League game in his home state of Oklahoma Friday.

“It means so much to me,” Brenner said. “I’m excited to play for family and friends tomorrow night, and for the boys especially. I’m excited to get going. Let’s go.”

The Warriors will break home ice at the Blazers Ice Centre Friday, October 28, and Saturday, October 29 for a pair of 7:15 p.m. games against the Shreveport Mudbugs. Tickets for all Oklahoma Warriors home games are available for purchase online or at the arena box office starting at 5 p.m. on game days and doors will open 6 p.m. on game days.
