KEY MOMENTS

Friday’s match was another tightly contested match for Ottawa, a second gruelling battle in a row for the Atleti.

Atlético Ottawa maintained their now traditional hermetic defensive shape, earning a second consecutive clean sheet.

With his 8th clean sheet of the season, GK Nathan Ingham levels up with Forge FC Triston Henry in the Golden Glove race.

Ottawa has conceded the second-fewest goals against in their 23 matches with 23, only behind Forge FC at 20 goals in 21 matches.

It was also the second match in a row where the firepower seen earlier in August (three goals against Halifax and at Cavalry) didn’t quite register for Ottawa, having been kept off the score sheet against Forge FC last week, and now FC Edmonton.

Atlético Ottawa remains in first place in the CPL standings entering a busy soccer weekend across the league.

Ottawa has a total of 40 points out of 23 matches.

Atleti’s next opponent, Pacific FC, sits in fourth with 35 points in 21 matches and will play Saturday at home against York United.

Ottawa has a 7 points advantage over 5th place Valour FC, who hosts Forge FC this Sunday in what could be a pivotal match for many teams vying for a playoff spot.

Atlético Ottawa embark on a gruelling month away from home that will take them to Victoria, Winnipeg, Calgary and Halifax before they can return home for the final match of the regular season.

The ATO v PFC match kicks off Sunday, September 11 at 4PM ET, live on One Soccer.
