Storm Seeks Bounce-Back Victory against Musketeers

SIOUX CITY, IA. – The Tri-City Storm seeks a bounce-back victory tonight against the Sioux City Musketeers after dropping last night’s road game to the Fargo Force by a final score of 4-0. Tonight’s Storm road game will be played at the Tyson Events Center, and puck drop for the matchup is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.


Tri-City (3-4-0-0) was held off of the scoreboard for the first time this season in last night’s road loss to the Fargo Force at Scheels Arena. The Storm has now dropped four consecutive games after beginning the 2022-2023 regular season with three straight victories. Tri-City posted a 6-2-0-1 record over Sioux City during the 2021-2022 regular season, but fell to the Musketeers in the Western Conference Final Round of the 2022 Clark Cup Playoffs. The Storm holds a 19-7-1-1 record in head-to-head matchups against the Musketeers over the last five seasons. Tri-City is 10-4-1-0 in games played against Sioux City at the Tyson Events Center during that time. Scoring leaders for the Storm to this point in the 2022-2023 regular season include Kieran Cebrian (4), Graham Gamache (3), Sebastian Törnqvist (3), and Tanner Adams (2). Tonight’s game is the first game of an eight-game season series this year between the Storm and the Musketeers. Sioux City will visit the Viaero Center in Kearney for back-to-back games on February 24th-25th, 2023. Following tonight’s road game against the Musketeers, the Storm will return home to the Viaero Center to host the Lincoln Stars on Saturday, October 29th.

Sioux City (0-3-2-0) is the only team in the league to this point in the season still seeking a victory. The Musketeers have been outscored by a 19-11 margin through the opening five games of the 2022-2023 regular season. Kaden Shahan (4) and Ryan Conmy (2) are the only Sioux City players to net multiple goals this season. The team’s powerplay has scored once this year, and ranks last in the league with a conversion rate of 10% entering tonight’s home game against the Storm. The Musketeer penalty kill ranks 15th in the USHL this season with a success rate of 62.5%. Sioux City dropped back-to-back games last weekend to the Fargo Force and Omaha Lancers. The Musketeers will play host to the Sioux Falls Stampede tomorrow night at the Tyson Events Center to complete a two-game homestand.
