Cats Continue Surge with Overtime Win
October 21, 2022 – Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) – Moncton Wildcats News Release
The Moncton Wildcats completed a 4-game homestand at the Avenir Center with a thrilling 5-4 overtime victory over the Val D’Or Foreurs in front of 3,200 fans.
First Star Yoan Loshing completed his hat-trick roofing the game-winner at 1:12 of the extra period – converting a perfect cross-ice feed from Vincent Labelle. Loshing is one the league’s more dangerous shooters and added two goals earlier in the game. He now has five on the season.
Other Wildcats goals went to defenceman Etienne Morin, his fifth, and Francesco Iasenza, notching his first of the season on a beautiful setup from Charles Beaudoin. Beaudoin had three assists and was named Second Star while the hard-working Max Barbashev also added three assists to lead Moncton to victory.
Goaltender Vincent Filion won his 4th game this season with a steady 36-save performance.
The Wildcats earned seven of a possible eight points during the four games at the Avenir to improve to 5-3-0-1 this season.
