Storm Travels to Fargo for Matchup with Force

FARGO, ND. – The Tri-City Storm travels to Scheels Arena tonight for a road matchup with the Fargo Force. The Storm dropped back-to-back games last weekend to the Lincoln Stars. The Storm finished the 2021-2022 regular season with a head-to-head record of 6-1-1-0 against the Force. Tonight’s game is scheduled to begin at 7:05pm CT.
Tri-City (3-3-0-0) is set for tonight’s opening game of this year’s eight-game season series against Fargo. The Storm has been outscored 21-24 through the first six games of the 2022-2023 regular season. Goal scorers for Tri-City to this point in the season include Kieran Cebrian (4), Graham Gamache (3), Sebastian Törnqvist (3), Tanner Adams (2), Cameron O’Neill, Trevor Connelly, Cale Ashcroft, David Sacco, Nick Roukounakis, Brock James, Phillippe Blais-Savoie, and Dane Dowiak. Over the past five seasons, Tri-City holds a 15-7-1-0 record against Fargo in head-to-head matchups, and is 6-4-1-0 in games played Scheels Arena. The Storm is 2-0-0-0 when leading after the 1st period, and 2-0-0-0 when leading after the 2nd period this season. Tri-City’s powerplay has netted six goals this season and enters tonight’s game ranked 5th in the Western Conference with a conversion percentage of 20.0%. The Storm’s penalty kill is ranked 2nd best in the Western Conference with a success rate of 88.2%. Tri-City is one of four teams in the USHL this season to net at least one shorthanded goal. The Storm will return to action tomorrow night in a road matchup with the Sioux City Musketeers at the Tyson Events Center. Tri-City will host the Lincoln Stars on Saturday, October 29th at the Viaero Center for the team’s next home game.
Fargo (4-1-0-1) has collected at least one point in five straight games after dropping the opening game of the season to the Chicago Steel on September 22nd at the USHL Fall Classic. The Force has won four of the last five games, and dropped the only home game at Scheels Arena this season by a final score of 4-3 in a shootout against the Sioux Falls Stampede on October 8th. Goal scorers for the Force through the opening six games of the 2022-2023 regular season include Cole Knuble (4), Anthony Menghini (4), Charlie Russell (2), Dakota MacIntosh (2), Jakob Stender (2), Harper Bentz, Bret Link, Kyle Smolen, Leo Gruba, Joe Palodichuk, Mac Swanson, Tanner Walos, Jacob Napier, Verner Miettinen, JP Turner, and German Yavash. Fargo’s powerplay has scored five times this season and is currently ranked 3rd in the Western Conference (23.8%). The Force’s penalty kill is ranked 6th in the Western Conference (73.7%). Fargo will return to action next weekend with back-to-back home games at Scheels Arena against the Sioux City Musketeers.
