Chiefs Host Rival Tri-City Americans Saturday in First Match-Up of the Season

Spokane, Wash. – The Spokane Chiefs look to carry their momentum into Saturday night as they host the rival Tri-City Americans for the first time this season. Over the last five years, Spokane is 18-6-4-0 against the Americans, including 10-3-1-0 at home.
The Chiefs are coming off a thrilling 6-3 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers that saw six different Chiefs put the puck in the net: Ty Cheveldayoff, Chase Bertholet, Saige Weinstein, Berkly Catton, Blake Swetlikoff and Kooper Gizowski. Cheveldayoff finished with a three-point night as he also notched assists on Catton and Swetlikoff’s goals, earning himself second star honors (Catton – first star).
Cooper Michaluk started in net for Spokane Friday and turned aside 32-of-35 shots faced. He’s now 3-0 in his starts this season.
Gizowski still leads the team in scoring (2G-7A-9TP) and is among the top ten scorers in the league. Meanwhile, Catton (3G-4A-7TP) is ranked second among the league’s rookies.
Tonight is Leinenkugel’s HOCKtoberfest! Arrive at the arena early to enjoy German food, beer and festivities as we celebrate the Oktoberfest season. The party starts at 4:00 p.m. in the Integra Rooms and fans can enter through the VIP entrance at the northwest corner of the arena.
