Kelowna Earns 2-1 Overtime Win

The Kelowna Rockets picked up a 2-1 overtime win in their first of back-to-back games against the Victoria Royals on Tuesday night at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre.
In his season debut and first game as the Rockets captain, Colton Dach secured the Rockets third win of the season netting the game-winner 1:04 into overtime.
Jari Kykkanen made his sixth consecutive start for Kelowna, stopping 25 of the 26 shots he faced.
GAME SUMMARY
Turner McMillen (2) broke the scoreless tie before the midway of the second period, redirecting Nolan Flamand’s shot in the blue paint that got past Royals starter Tyler Palmer. Justin Kipkie’s (2) shot went off of Elias Carmichael’s stick and into the Rockets net to tie the game.
Still tied at one after three periods of action the game went to overtime. Colton Dach picked off the puck in the Royals zone, he turned and fired the game-winner from the right faceoff dot.
