Atlético Ottawa enter their final match knowing a win against York United at TD Place will secure their crown as 2022 Canadian Premier League regular season champions (KO 6 PM ET). Carlos González’s side, who are unbeaten in their last eight games, have already qualified for the playoffs and a spot in the top two.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Sunday’s kick-off.
Atlético Ottawa sit atop the CPL table with 48 points from 27 games.
York United (who are already eliminated from playoff contention) are sixth with 33 points from 27 games.
A victory over York on Sunday would guarantee the regular season title for Atleti.
Should Pacific FC fail to beat Cavalry FC on Saturday night, Ottawa will be crowned champion irrespective of their result.
Head Coach González’s side continued their unbeaten streak last weekend with a 2-1 win over HFX Wanderers in Nova Scotia.
Goals from Maxim Tissot and Zakaria Bahous, as well as a stand-out performance from Nathan Ingham in goal, earned all three players a spot on the CPL ‘Team of the Week’
York United have won six of their last 10 games, picking up 19 points in the process.
Their fine form in September earned manager Martin Nash and forward Mo Babouli individual accolades (Manager of the Month and Player of the Month)
The last time these two sides met, Atlético ran out comfortable 3-0 winners at York Lions Stadium.
A large group of fans, organized by the Capital City Supporters Group (CCSG), went on the road to cheer on the team as they picked up their first win over York United.

World Champion Dance Troupe, DM Nation a group of 14 dancers in an all-female hip-hop dance crew from Lévis, Québec, will take to the field at halftime to celebrate the end of a phenomenal season.
A special Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner Poutine will be available at select concessions at TD Place.
The evening will conclude with a fireworks display and autograph session on the field.
