Youth Jerseys Make the Mark

Waterloo, Iowa – One of the most anticipated nights on Waterloo’s hockey calendar comes early in the 2022/23 season on Friday, October 14th when the Waterloo Black Hawks give away youth hockey jerseys to the first 500 kids in attendance, presented by SCHEELS and Christie Door Company.
The Hawks meet the Omaha Lancers at 7:05 p.m. on the 14th. Kids aged 4-12 will receive one of the jerseys, while supplies last. The sweaters are one-size-fits-most and feature the Black Hawks’ “wordmark,” combining the team’s name with elements of the club’s primary logo. This year’s jerseys are primarily white, with black print, striping, and collar. The number “1” also appears on the back beneath the SCHEELS logo.
“SCHEELS and Christie Door Company have been great partners during recent seasons, and that has allowed us to make this an annual tradition,” said Black Hawks President of Business Operations Joe Greene. “The kids and families who come out to Young Arena to cheer us on are really part of our team, and one of the best parts about this giveaway is that it gives the kids a chance to feel like it.”
SCHEELS’ Cedar Falls location is in Viking Plaza. The 100 percent employee-owned company features the world’s largest selection of sporting goods, apparel, footwear, and more from top brands. Christie Door Company is also in Cedar Falls, serving customers in the Cedar Valley and beyond. They install and service a wide range of residential and commercial garage doors and accessories.
The kids jersey giveaway has been part of the Black Hawks promotional schedule since 2016/17. During 2022/23, the October 14th promotion is one of 11 nights when the team will present a promotional item to a large number of fans in attendance.
Waterloo’s game against Omaha is also the first Domino’s Family 4 Pack game for the 2022/23 season. Fans can enjoy a large Domino’s pizza and four soft drinks, plus four chuck-a-pucks with their four tickets for just $60 during this and other select games.
