Republic FC – The Latest
The club’s win over Oakland propelled them back into fourth place in the Western Conference as Colorado Springs defeated New Mexico United. The club was dangerous all night long, generating 11 chances, and stood tall on defense for their second clean sheet in three matches.
Saturday’s match will be a tough test for the club, as they begin to balance personnel for the Open Cup final. The match will be a full-squad effort, however, every player on the roster has seen action of late due to congestion in the schedule. All 18 men called upon will give Sacramento a chance to win and claim important points in the league table.
Know Your Opponent
LouCity has been one of the best clubs in the league all season long, falling only five times on the season. The club sits just one point away from securing a playoff berth.
The club will welcome Sacramento to town on short rest following their third consecutive road match against Indy Eleven – a contest that saw them fall 2-1. Indy created the better chances throughout the night to the tune of an expected goals rating over 2 – and took advantage of a late penalty in the 78th minute to break what was a 1-1 deadlock.
Head to Head
The two clubs have never met before, making Saturday their first ever contest. However, they’ve faced a bevy of similar opponents this season with Sacramento claiming a 9-2-4 record, and Louisville a 9-3-3 record those matches. Each club has been strong defensively throughout the season, with the Kentucky club allowing the least pressure of any in the entire league, and Sacramento entering in the bottom half of the goals conceded leaderboard.
