Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats held their annual Blue vs. White Game, with Team Blue coming away with a 8-3 win on Tuesday at the Brandt Centre.

Cole Dubinsky led the way with five points (3G-2A), Borya Valis added three points (1G-2A), and Logan Linklater scored twice while Kelton Pyne and Drew Sim combined for the victory for Team Blue. For Team White, Easton Armstrong led the way with two goals, and Connor Bedard found the back of the net in the loss.

THE GOALS

First Period

Team Blue 1-0 at 13:28 – Cole Dubinsky (1), assisted by Brayden Smith // Dubinsky made a nifty move in the attacking zone and sneaked a backhander past Matthew Kieper to open the scoring.

Team White 1-1 at 18:50 – Easton Armstrong (1), assisted by Layton Feist // Armstrong skated through centre with speed before crossing the blueline and ripping a hard snapshot into the net from the left dot to tie it up.

Second Period

Team Blue 2-1 at 7:15 – Luke Bateman (1), assisted by Samuel Laplante and Dubinsky // Bateman carried the puck in on the rush and ripped a shot bar down past Kieper.

Team Blue 3-1 at 9:14 – Dubinsky (2), assisted by Cam Perlinger and Cobe Perlinger // Dubinsky scored his second of the game, beating Kieper with a shot from in close.

Team Blue 4-1 at 11:31 – Logan Linklater (1), assisted by Cole Dubinsky // Linklater carried the puck in close, where his shot on goal bounced in off Cruz Chase and in.

Team Blue 5-1 at 15:16 – Tye Spencer (1), assisted by Laplante and Borya Valis // Spencer increased Team Blue’s lead when he tipped home a point shot from Laplante.

Team Blue 6-1 at 16:15 – Linklater (2), assisted by Valis and Jacob Dewitt // Valis carried the puck through the offensive zone and got the pass to Linklater who made no mistake to increase Team Blue’s lead.

Team Blue 7-1 at 18:25 – Jakob Brook (1), assisted by Dubinsky and Layton Feist // While on an odd-man rush, Dubinsky fed a pass to Brook who ripped home a one-timer to increase Team Blue’s lead.

Third Period

Team White 7-2 at 6:08 – Armstrong (2), assisted by Connor Bedard and Feist // While on a rush, Bedard fed a pass to Armstrong who fired a shot past Drew Sim’s outstretched glove.

Team White 7-3 at 9:56 – Connor Bedard (1), assisted by Feist and Kaslo Ferner // Bedard carried the puck into the offensive zone and beat Sim short-side from below the right circle.

Team Blue 8-3 at 15:01 – Valis (1), unassisted // Valis fired a wrister past Cruz to restore Team Blue’s lead to five goals.

UP NEXT

Regina will have five pre-season games before their home opener against the Moose Jaw Warriors on September 23. The Pats will begin their pre-season schedule on Friday, September 9, playing a home-and-home set against the Prince Albert Raiders. The Pats will then take on the Swift Current Broncos in Estevan, Sask. at Affinity Place on September 13 before wrapping up their pre-season schedule on September 15 and 17 against the Winnipeg ICE.
